CAR PARK
Competitors may use the golf club car park. The Scottish Golf Union and Strathaven Golf Club cannot accept responsibility for any loss, theft or damage to cars. Additional car parking is adjacent to the first tee. Please obey the instructions of the car park attendant who will be on duty during peak times.

CATERING
Coffee, tea and morning rolls will be available from 06.30am. Bar snacks & meals will be available all day until close of play. All catering is at the competitor's expense.

CLUBHOUSE
The clubhouse will be open at 06.00am on each Championship day. Competitors, their families and guests are permitted the use of the clubhouse facilities.

In all clubhouse areas casual wear is acceptable for competitors, but must be smart. THE WEARING OF JEANS, SLEEVELESS OR COLLARLESS SHIRTS AND TRAINING SHOES IS NOT PERMITTED. Shorts are permitted if tailored. Hats must be removed before entering the clubhouse. Golf Spikes are not permitted upstairs within the clubhouse. They are only permitted to be worn within the Locker rooms and golfer’s corridor downstairs.

Competitors shall not be allowed to purchase alcoholic drinks.

MOBILE PHONES MUST BE SWITCHED OFF IN THE CLUBHOUSE AND ON THE COURSE.

Changing facilities are available in the visitors and gents locker rooms. There are no lockers available. There are showers available. Competitors planning to use showers are advised to bring their own towel.

COURSE AND PLAY
Competitors will play one round of stroke play on both Wednesday 11 & Thursday 12 July. The top 40 qualifiers and those tying on 40th place will play two rounds on Friday 13 July. The draw for Friday will be made as soon as possible after close of play on Thursday.

Competitors must report to the SGU Championship Mobile Office at least 30 minutes prior to their starting times that are shown in the official draw sheet.

Each competitor will be issued with a copy of the local rules, pin positions, pace of play guidelines and insurance certificate when registering at the SGU Championship Mobile Office.

COMPETITORS MUST REPORT TO THE OFFICIAL STARTER AT THE FIRST TEE 5 MINUTES BEFORE THEY ARE DUE TO PLAY. Competitors are reminded that late arrival at the first tee will result in disqualification as no provision has been made under Rule 6-3.

CADDIES ARE NOT PERMITTED AND COMPETITORS ARE REMINDED THAT THEY MUST NOT SEEK OR ACCEPT ADVICE FROM PARENTS, OTHER COMPETITORS OR ANY OTHER PERSON. NB. "Advice" is any counsel or suggestion which could influence a player in determining his play, the choice of a club or the method of making a stroke.

INSURANCE
Your entry fee includes cover in respect of competitor’s legal liability in the event of them causing injury to another person or damage to a third party property.

PRACTICE
The club has kindly granted courtesy of the course for one practice round, on Tuesday 10 July between 9.00am & 2.30pm. Competitors must telephone the professional’s shop (t: +44 (0)1357 521812) in advance to make a booking. Times are available on a first come first served basis. Competitors unable to practice on Tuesday 10 July may arrange an alternative time by prior arrangement with the club.

Each competitor must report to the professional’s shop prior to starting his practice round. Competitors may play from the championship tees. Other than in accordance with the rules of golf, a competitor in a practice round must not have more than one ball in play - exception - if a player misses the green with his shot to the green he may play one additional shot.

There is a limited practice ground available that will accommodate up to a maximum of 8 players. Players are required to use their own practice balls. The practice area is located in between the 1st and 16th fairways, play from this area is restricted to medium irons only. Players are reminded to be respectful of competitors on the course when making their way to the practice area.

The putting greens that lies adjacent to the first tee and behind the clubhouse are available for practice putting only. Competitors are prohibited from chipping onto or around these greens.

Please note: At busy periods there will be limited bays for practice and priority will be given to players practicing 40 minutes prior to their start time. The range attendant whose instructions must be obeyed at all times will administer this.

Competitors may use Broadlees Golf Driving Range for additional practice facilities. This facility is 1.6 miles from Strathaven Golf Club. It is not affilliated with Strathaven GC and charges will apply at the competitors own expense.

TROLLEYS & YARDAGE BOOKS
The club has trolleys available for hire, approximately 24 pull trolleys (£2.00 per round) and 4 powakaddys (£8.00 per round). These will be first come first served. Complimentary strokesavers are also available from the Professional Shop.

PRESENTATION
The Championship trophy and medals will be presented at the close of play on Friday 13 July. All medal winners are expected to be present.

RANKINGS
The Scottish Boys Under 16’s Open Amateur Stroke Play Championship is an R&A World Amateur Golf Ranking event and for Scottish players counts toward the SGU Order of Merit.

RESPONSIBILITY
Strathaven Golf Club and the Scottish Golf Union cannot accept responsibility for players’ property during the championship or on the days when practice is permitted.
